Van Gogh exhibit was good! But this review is for the staff- my/our experience was horrible!! Should be lower than 1 star!To start-Tickets bought online for Jan 21st said Museum opens at 9a, bought tickets for a 10a spot. People were already in line when we got there at 9:30a who bought tickets for a 9a spot and saying why is the museum not open yet blah, blah. While in line, checked the website and for some odd reason, was switched to open at 10am. Did somebody screw up in the online time scheduling department?? And some folks were waiving to ask why and No one from the staff inside ever cared to figure out what the people were waiving about outside. Noticed a few folks were let in at the side door by 2 staff- a white, older guy and a black, old guy (both had lanyards)and so my group followed, only to be yelled at by this old black guy- mind you, he YELLED NO, NO, NO holding the door like we were criminals breaking in!! Wondered what happened to just saying sorry this is not an entrance!!??? The yelling was so uncalled for and it makes one think where do the DIA get their staff from-The ghetto?? And this experience didn’t just end there!! we were in the exhibit, I was looking at this painting and about to take a pic when this tall, black woman (who when I entered the room was just talking to this white guy also a staff) suddenly out of the blue in big loud voice (that everyone in the room and the other room where my group was) heard her say-, “Maam, pls make sure your flash is off!” To which I answered-, “It’s been off.” Though it was a reminder, but why the big voice?? And singling me out??? Really can’t say-“everyone if taking pics no flash please???!!!” Was offensive quite frankly! For one to assume that a person does not know rules in going to a museum! And of course, it didn’t end there! I was already feeling disgusted about this experience, went to claim our coats, were checking where to go when this older, white man in a suit loudly said, “Maam, maam, maam you go this way to claim your coat!” And I was like DANG!! Do staff at DIA ever get a customer service class at all! Or no one really cares!!?? I was going to let this experience pass as it was my daughter’s birthday and we were there as part of our celebration but the whole experience ruined our vibes! Though 1-2 staff were gracious and nice but it didn’t help what the other staff had set our mood for. If it was just me and my group that experienced it - well and good. But if others have something to say too, then it’s bad for DIA’s image! Visited on Weekend
