Dominican Museum Rottweil and its collection

Dominican Museum Rottweil
Source

The Dominican Museum in Rottweil was opened in 1992 with an exhibition area of around 1,400 square meters as a branch museum of the Württemberg State Museum with two main focuses—Roman and medieval sculptures. Today, the Roman Rottweil—Arae Flaviae department is a branch museum of the Baden-Württemberg State Museum of Archaeology. The Medieval Sacred Art – Dursch Collection department is a branch museum of the Württemberg State Museum. In 2009, the former Dominican Forum was replaced by the Kunst Raum Rottweil – Museum der Gegenwart, a newly created museum that shows temporary exhibitions of contemporary art in a joint venture between the city, the district, the district savings bank, and Forum Kunst.
