The Duarte House Museum was once the home of national hero Juan Pablo Duarte, born in 1813. This historic residence has been declared not only a World Heritage Site but also a Museum dedicated to the life and history of the Martyr Procer Juan Pablo Duarte.
The Duarte House Museum, also known as the Duartiano Institute, is a significant institution established in 1966 by a group of Dominican historians. The museum was inaugurated on January 26, 1967, with the purpose of showcasing the various stages, works, and contributions of Duarte to the Dominican Republic.
The Duarte House Museum is home to significant artifacts related to Juan Pablo Duarte. These include his Baptism Certificate, the urn that held his remains, various paintings and portraits, constitution projects, and paintings about the Foundation of the Trinitaria. These items serve as important historical documents that provide insight into Duarte's life and contributions.
