The Ecomuseo Walser, also known as the Walser Ecomuseum, is an ethnographic museum situated in Gressoney-La-Trinité in the Aosta Valley. The museum's primary aim is to enhance and promote the Walser culture in the upper Lys Valley. It provides a unique opportunity for visitors to learn about the rich history and traditions of the Walser people.

Structures of Ecomuseo Walser

The Ecomuseo Walser was officially established in 2007. It comprises three structures: the rural house (Puròhus), the museum house (Pòtzschhus), and the Binò Alpelté hut. The rural house and museum house are located in the Thedy and Rial houses in Tache, while the Binò Alpelté hut is located in the Alpelté pasture in Binò. Please note that the Binò Alpelté hut is only open to visitors during the summer season.

Permanent Exhibitions at Ecomuseo Walser

The Ecomuseo Walser features various permanent exhibitions. These include displays of clothing from the 19th and early 20th centuries, photographic documentation, and a reconstruction of the study room of Heinrich (Heirelé) Welf. Welf was an activist dedicated to the enhancement and safeguarding of Walser culture. These exhibitions provide a fascinating insight into the history and culture of the Walser people.
