Ecomuseum of Itaipu and its collection

Turismo Itaipu informs that the Itaipu Ecomuseum is still under renovation, but has partially reopened. Since October 18th, 2023, the Itaipu Ecomuseum launched two exhibitions on the history and construction of the Itaipu plant. The exhibitions feature objects from the construction period, information panels, interactive 3D maps and much more. Itaipu: from construction to conservation The first exhibition, located on the top floor, portrays the history of the plant's construction through photos, infographics, educational texts and objects from the time. Furthermore, it is possible to see up close what the accommodation of the plant's construction workers, the dam workers, were like. The second part of the exhibition highlights the environmental impacts of construction in the region and describes the measures adopted by Itaipu to ensure that no species of local fauna and flora were harmed during the construction process. Itaipu: a diplomatic work The second exhibition, entitled Itaipu: a diplomatic work, is an interactive space with informative interventions regarding the diplomatic and political procedures that preceded the construction of the Itaipu Plant, located in Foz do Iguaçu. The exhibition features an interactive 3D map, audio guide and a 3D tour of the plant. How to visit? The Itaipu Ecomuseum is located at Av.
