The Tinel Museum is dedicated to the life and work of Flemish Romantic pianist and composer Edgar Tinel (1854 - 1912). The museum is located in his birthplace. Together with composer Peter Benoit, Edgar Tinel was at the forefront of music in Belgium for many years. Tinel's musical oeuvre has its roots in High Romanticism. Main characteristics of his work are massive playing, with succession of full chords, without syncopated rhythm. With more emphasis on the lyrical than the epic.
