The Ehm Welk-Haus in Bad Doberan, once the residence of the writer Ehm Welk, is a cultural meeting place today. This simple single-family house made of red clinker bricks stands as a testament to the writer's life and work. It offers a unique opportunity to delve into the world of Ehm Welk and experience the environment in which he lived and created his works.
The Ehm Welk-Haus features three exhibition areas that provide insights into the life and work of Ehm Welk. These include the hall of the house, the summer workroom, and the garden house. Each area is filled with photos, documents, first editions, and gift editions that offer a comprehensive view of Ehm Welk's biography and bibliography.
The former living room of the Ehm Welk-Haus has been transformed into a vibrant venue for various cultural events. These include readings, literary colloquia, concerts, theater performances, cabaret evenings, and musical-literary events. The room also hosts exhibitions and the traditional Ehm-Welk events held annually.
