The Estoril Natural Park, located in São Bernardo do Campo, is a significant conservation unit of the Atlantic Forest, the Billings Reservoir, and wildlife. The park spans an impressive area of about 373,000 m², with over 90% of its area dedicated to a preserved fragment of the Atlantic Forest. The park's primary objectives include the preservation of fauna and flora, protection of the water source, environmental education, ecotourism, and the enhancement of local ecological knowledge.
The Estoril Natural Park welcomes visitors from Wednesday to Sunday, between the hours of 9 am and 5 pm. This schedule allows ample time for visitors to explore the park and its various attractions.
Inaugurated on October 5, 1985, the zoo at Estoril Park is home to approximately 270 animals from 70 different species. These include the tapir, lesser anteater, purple-breasted parrot, green-billed toucan, yellow-throated alligator, boa constrictor, tortoise, and endangered species such as the ocelot, the giant anteater, and the chauá parrot. The zoo not only offers a public exhibition of these animals but also provides environmental education activities and training for the police and municipal environmental guards.
