The Ethnographic Museum of Premana is a cultural institution located in the Province of Lecco. It is dedicated to showcasing demo-ethno-anthropological goods, providing a unique insight into the cultural heritage of the region.
The museum is a testament to the agro-pastoral culture and the material and economic life of the pre-alpine communities. It houses a collection of objects, utensils, clothes, and common tools, along with a photographic archive, all of which provide a glimpse into the past.
The museum is divided into several rooms, each dedicated to a specific theme. The iron room documents the historical stages of iron processing in Premana. The costume room focuses on female work and displays traditional costumes, female work artifacts, and tools for weaving, along with a reconstructed kitchen. The agriculture room showcases the tools used by mountain farmers for cultivating rye, raising and caring for livestock, and working the land on the slopes. It also features a reconstructed 'casinè', a mountain farmhouse used by shepherds for shelter and for the transformation of milk into cheese.
