Expi is a permanent exhibition of interactive exhibits from various fields of natural sciences. It is located in the village of Gotschuchen, in the municipality of Sankt Margareten im Rosental in southern Carinthia, about 20 km south of Klagenfurt near the Slovenian border. This makes it the first Science Center in Carinthia, offering a unique opportunity for visitors to engage with science in a hands-on manner.
The exhibition space at Expi covers approximately 400 m² and offers about 50 experimental stations. These stations present scientific topics in a playful way, following the concept of a Science Center. This allows visitors of all ages to engage with and learn about various scientific concepts in a fun and interactive manner.
Some of the larger exhibits at Expi include a walk-in Ames room, a walk-in pentagonal kaleidoscope, and a 2.5 meter high tornado that can be created at the push of a button. These exhibits not only provide a visual spectacle but also allow visitors to physically interact with them, adding an extra layer of engagement and fun to the experience.
