The Fernley and Lassen Railway Depot is a historic site located at 675 E. Main St. in Fernley, Nevada. Constructed in 1914, it served as the eastern terminus of the Fernley and Lassen Railway line of the Southern Pacific, situated 30 miles from Reno, Nevada. This location offers visitors a glimpse into the past, showcasing the importance of rail transportation in the early 20th century.
The depot is a 187-by-26-foot wood-frame building, designed according to the Southern Pacific Railroad Company's "Common Standard Station Plan #22". It stands as a well-preserved example of railroad pattern book architecture, and it is the only surviving example of this specific plan in Nevada. Visitors can appreciate the unique architectural style and understand its significance in the history of railroad construction.
