The Florida International Museum, previously located at St. Petersburg College's Downtown Center, was an art museum that was situated at 244 Second Avenue N, St. Petersburg, Florida. This museum was a part of the St. Petersburg College and was known for its diverse and captivating art collections.

Exhibitions at the Original Florida International Museum

The original Florida International Museum, which opened in 1995, was housed in a former Maas Brothers department store. The museum was renowned for its traveling blockbuster exhibitions, which included 'Treasures of the Czars' in 1995, 'Splendors of Ancient Egypt' in 1996, 'Alexander The Great' in 1996, 'Titanic' in 1998, 'Empire of Mystery' in 1999, 'John F. Kennedy, The Exhibition' in 1999 - 2000, and 'Diana, a Celebration' in 2005.

Relocation and Final Exhibit of the Original Museum

In 2006, the museum relocated to a smaller space within St. Petersburg College's Downtown Center. The final special exhibit of the original museum was 'Vatican Splendors' in 2008.

Integration with St. Petersburg College and Inclusion of Gulf Coast Museum of Art Collections

Later in 2008, the museum became a part of St. Petersburg College and was subsequently renamed. In 2009, the contemporary Florida art collections of the now-closed Gulf Coast Museum of Art were incorporated into the Florida International Museum at St. Petersburg College.
