Galleria d'Arte Moderna Paolo ed Adele Giannoni

The Galleria d'Arte Moderna di Novara, also known as Galleria d'Arte Moderna Paolo e Adele Giannoni, is home to one of the most significant collections of 19th-century works in Piedmont. This collection is a testament to the rich artistic heritage of the region and offers visitors a chance to explore the evolution of art during this period.

Extensive Collection of Italian Paintings

The gallery boasts over 800 Italian paintings from the 19th and 20th centuries, displayed across 13 rooms. The works of renowned artists such as Francesco Filippini, Felice Casorati, Giovanni Fattori, Giovanni Segantini, and Telemaco Signorini are featured in the collection, providing a comprehensive overview of Italian art during these centuries.

Historical Artifacts and Artistic Works

Before recent restorations, the Broletto, where the gallery is located, also housed the city's "civic museums". These included an archaeological section displaying early artifacts from the Neolithic and Lombard periods discovered in the Novara region, and an artistic section with works produced in the territory between the 13th and 20th centuries. These collections are expected to be moved to the Novara castle once restoration work is completed.
