Garlogie Mill Power House Museum is a museum in Garlogie, Skene, Westhill Aberdeenshire . The Garlogie Beam Engine is a rare surviving example of early 19th-century Beam Engine. Built in 1833 for the Garlogie Mills complex, in part from an earlier 1805 Boulton & Watt engine supplied to A Hadden and Sons Aberdeen who purchased the site after the original owner went bankrupt. Originally the mill was powered by watermill before being replaced by a Hercules turbine, with the engine providing auxiliary power. After the mill was closed a hydro-electric plant was installed to provide electricity to the local estate.
