We were very lucky to have our own personal visit by the present curator. There are 11 rooms over 2 floors in the attic of the town hall packed with items from the Victorian period, WW1 through to WW2 including school room, a whole church alter, shop containing everything from food to hardware, cooking utensils etc. a kitchen and scullery showing where the children would have been put in a baby walker whilst mum cooked or did the laundry, how everyone’s stayed warm, clothes from the time ranging from baby, children through to mourning clothes, a lace pillow with bobbins, soldiers clothing, samplers by young girls. The tour lasted 90 minutes and we felt very privileged to have enjoyed it.
