The Glockenmuseum Laucha, established in 1932, is housed in the former premises of the Ulrich bell foundry in Laucha an der Unstrut. This foundry has a rich history dating back to 1732, providing a unique setting for the museum.
The Foundry's Transition to a Museum
The bell foundry was operational until 1911, casting bells for various purposes. It was then gifted to the community of Laucha by bell caster master Franz August Schilling, under the condition that it be preserved as a museum. Since 1932, it has been open to the public, offering a glimpse into the past.

Visitors to the Glockenmuseum Laucha can gain an authentic insight into the history of the bell caster's craft through the display of bells, tools, and molds. The museum showcases historical working techniques, as described by Friedrich Schiller in his 'Song of the Bell'.
