The Goethe Museum Düsseldorf is one of the three prestigious Goethe museums in Germany, alongside the Goethe House in Frankfurt am Main and the Goethe National Museum in Weimar. The related institution includes the museum, the manuscript archive, the research library, the art collection and an event center. It houses about 50,000 original testimonies of the Goethe era, including letters, manuscripts, books, first editions and "dedication copies", portraits, vedutes, illustrations, drawings (50 by Goethe), oil paintings, busts, masks, coins, medals, and a porcelain and glass collection.
