    The Goldbergbau Museum Goldkronach is a specialized mining museum that primarily focuses on the history and techniques of gold extraction in the immediate vicinity of the Upper Franconian city of Goldkronach. The museum is housed in a former forestry house, which was built in 1740 by Colonel August von Wallenroth and was once the residence of Alexander von Humboldt between 1792 and 1795. The building is a protected monument.
