The Musical Instrument Museum (Grassi Museum für Musikinstrumente der Universität Leipzig) is a museum in Leipzig that is located in the Grassi Museum. It is part of the Leipzig University and focuses on musical instruments. The permanent collection shows the important eras in music history and instrument making, in particular focused on Leipzig. The museum is organized chronologically in thirteen sections and the oldest pieces date from the 16th century. In the museum holds and exhibits all kinds of instruments as well as related pieces such as clocks.
