The Gustav Klimt Center, located in Schรถrfling am Attersee, Upper Austria, was a tribute to the Art Nouveau painter Gustav Klimt. Klimt, who lived from 1862 to 1918, spent numerous summers at Attersee, where he created several of his renowned landscape paintings.
In October 2022, the museum was closed and is currently being cleared by its operator, the Klimt Private Foundation. Despite the closure of the museum, the Klimt am Attersee association, the theme trail, and the Cafe-Restaurant Das Klimt continue to operate and welcome visitors.
The core zone of the Gustav Klimt Theme Trail is located along the promenade in Kammer-Schรถrfling and in Seewalchen. This trail provides an overview of Klimt's life and work, as well as the motifs of his creations, particularly in the vicinity of his summer residences, Villa Paulick and Villa Oleander.
