Hålandstunet is a division of the Ryfylkemuseet, located just a short detour from highway 13 in Erfjord. This historic large farm has been restored and consists of the main house, Målarstova, and Håmannsbua. The history of Håland as a museum farm began in 1960 when Rogaland Folkemuseum received Målastova and Røykstova with Håmanns-bua as a gift from Hadle Haaland.
The Målarstova is recognized as an important cultural monument, featuring decorative painting from the 1640s. This is more than a century before it became a common practice to decorate guest houses in Ryfylke with rosemaling. The Målarstova is therefore rare and has significant historical value. It also serves as a reminder of a time when direct trade with foreign countries brought capital, ideas, and people to Ryfylke from countries around the North Sea.
