The Hessenhuis is a Renaissance structure that in the past was an urban warehouse completed in 1564. It served as a warehouse for goods brought in from German Hesse. After the closure of the Scheldt in 1585, the Hessenhuis received other uses. Today it is a space for various temporary exhibitions.
