The Windham County Museum, built by the Historical Society of Windham County, started its construction in 1936 in Newfane, Vermont. The museum is recognized for its historical significance and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Windham County History Fair

In addition to its museum, the Historical Society of Windham County also organizes a biannual event known as the "Windham County History Fair" in Newfane. This event provides an opportunity for visitors to learn more about the history of the region in a fun and engaging way.

West River Railroad Museum

In 2015, the Historical Society of Windham County made a significant move to preserve local history by purchasing the remaining Newfane station, one of the last remnants of the West River Railroad. This purchase led to the creation of the "West River Railroad Museum", further expanding the society's efforts to preserve and showcase the region's history.
