Historisch Centrum Leeuwarden is the information and activity center for the history of Leeuwarden and surroundings. It is the oldest city archive of the Netherlands (1838). Anyone who wants to know about the history of Leeuwarden or the former residents can turn to the HCL. Besides the permanent exhibition "The Story of Leeuwarden 'the Historical Center has continually new exhibits.
