Gjellergaard is a picturesque farm located on Gjellerodde, nestled between Lem Vig and Gjeller Sø. It is situated about 5 km north of Lemvig, in a scenic area close to Nissum Bredning in the Limfjorden. The farm, which was once a West Jutland fisherman's farm, has been beautifully transformed into a local heritage museum. This offers visitors a unique opportunity to explore the rich history and culture of the region.
Owned by the Lemvig Municipality, Gjellergaard was restored in 1992-1993 and is currently managed by the Gjellergaard Association. The museum is largely run on a voluntary basis by local community members. Gjellergaard is a living museum, featuring working stands during its opening hours. This allows visitors to experience the local culture and history in a dynamic and interactive way.
