Location of the Hoboken Historical Museum
In 2001, the Hoboken Historical Museum relocated to 1301 Hudson Street, occupying the last standing building of the former Bethlehem Steel Hoboken Shipyard. This move not only provided the museum with a larger space but also added a historical significance to its location.
Hoboken Oral History Project
The Hoboken Historical Museum, in collaboration with the Friends of the Hoboken Public Library, has been documenting the memories of longtime residents through the Hoboken Oral History Project. This initiative captures stories about local mom-and-pop shops, movie palaces, jazz clubs, vaudeville performances, political campaigns, ethnic traditions, and factory jobs, offering visitors a unique glimpse into the city's past.
