The construction of the hunting lodge Gross Schoenebeck, which is in the early Baroque style, was initiated by the Great Elector in 1660. This was done in place of a destroyed castle. The construction was only completed under the reign of King Friedrich Wilhelm I. The lodge was originally surrounded by a moat, adding to its historical charm.
