Industrial monument Jakob Bengel and its collection

During the 1920s and 1930s, the Jakob Bengel factory emerged as one of the leading manufacturers of fashion jewelry, particularly in the style of Art Deco. Rather than using gemstones in their creations, the company opted for the use of Galalith, a type of plastic.

The Industrial Museum

The buildings of the Jakob Bengel factory now belong to a foundation and serve as an industrial museum. Visitors can explore the development of the company's mechanical production from 1870 to 1990, as well as gain insights into its economic development, social structure, and working conditions over the years.

The Machine Hall and Chain Machines

The machine hall of the Jakob Bengel industrial museum is home to 40 partly self-built chain machines, some of which are a century old. These machines provide a glimpse into the past and the intricate process of chain making.
