The Isolatorenmuseum in Lohr am Main is home to a significant portion of Lothar Vormwald's private insulator collection. It was inaugurated on June 20, 2004, becoming the third museum in the Lower Franconian city. This museum is unique in its kind in Germany, making it a distinctive destination for those interested in the history and development of insulators.

The Collection at the Isolatorenmuseum

The private collection showcased at the Isolatorenmuseum was assembled by trained high-voltage electrician Lothar Vormwald, with the assistance of his wife, Daniele Vormwald. It comprises over 600 insulators sourced from more than 40 countries. This extensive collection provides a comprehensive overview of the variety and evolution of insulators worldwide.
