The Harris Dental Museum, located in the quaint village of Bainbridge in Ross County, Ohio, is a small brick building with a rich history. Originally built as a residence in 1815, it later became the first dental school in the United States. Today, it operates as a museum, preserving and showcasing the history of dental education in the country.

The Legacy of John Harris

John Harris is widely recognized as the pioneer of American dental education due to his emphasis on teaching dentistry. His former dental school, purchased by the Ohio Dental Association in 1938, opened as a museum in 1968 and was named the Dr. John Harris Dental Museum. The museum has been restored to almost its original condition and offers tours to the public, providing a unique insight into the history of dental education.
