Kappel Mølle is a historical stub mill situated in Kappel, a region in the westernmost part of Lolland, south of Nakskov. The mill is believed to have been constructed around the year 1730, although it could potentially be older. This makes it a significant historical site, offering visitors a glimpse into the past.
In 1844, Kappel Mølle underwent extensive modernization and was equipped with a hulling mill. It continued to operate as a grain mill until 1934. In 1936, the mill was handed over to a self-owning institution named 'Kappel Stubmølle og Hellig Trefoldighedskilde'. This history adds to the mill's rich narrative and its importance as a historical monument.
Kappel Mølle opens its doors to the public on various occasions, one of which is the 'Danish Mill Day'. This event is held annually on the third Sunday of June. During this day, visitors can witness the mill in operation and grinding flour, provided the wind conditions are favorable.
