The Kroppedal Museum is a unique blend of cultural and astronomical history, situated at the Observatorium Tusculanum, the land observatory of Ole Rømer, in Vridsløsemagle. This location is approximately 20 kilometers west-southwest of Copenhagen, making it a convenient destination for those visiting the capital city.
Permanent Exhibition at Kroppedal Museum
In 2008, the museum's permanent exhibition was re-established as "Mechanics of the Universe - Ole Rømer and Danish astronomy for 400 years". This exhibition showcases, among other things, the only surviving pendulum clock of Ole Rømer from the Copenhagen fire of 1728. This is a significant piece of history that offers a glimpse into the past.
Special Exhibitions and Star Evenings at Kroppedal Museum
In addition to its permanent exhibition, Kroppedal Museum also hosts changing special exhibitions and increasingly external exhibitions around the Vestegnen. During the winter months, the museum collaborates with the Copenhagen Astronomical Society to hold public star evenings, offering a unique experience for astronomy enthusiasts.
