Lamport Hall is a Grade I listed building. It contains a wealth of furniture, books, china and paintings, many of which were brought back by the third Baronet's Grand Tour of Europe in the 1670s. Sir Charles Isham is responsible for the present appearance of the garden, with a small Italian garden and the remarkable rock garden rising like a ruin at 24' tall. In the time of Sir Charles this was peopled by small figures, undoubtedly the first garden gnomes in England.
