Ledge View Nature Center is a sizable 105-acre park and interpretive center situated just two miles south of Chilton, Wisconsin. This location makes it easily accessible for visitors and tourists who are in or around the area. The nature center is part of the Calumet County Parks system, which is operated by Calumet County.
The park offers a variety of features for visitors to enjoy. There are 2.5 miles of hiking and cross country ski trails that wind through fields and forests, providing a great opportunity for outdoor activities. The park also boasts a 60-foot observation tower, an arboretum, a butterfly garden, a rain garden, and a prairie. For those interested in geology, there are three natural solution dolomite caves that can be explored only by guided tour, and a quarry.
The interpretive center at Ledge View Nature Center is another highlight for visitors. It features interactive exhibits on lake sturgeon, birds, bats of Wisconsin, and the Niagara Escarpment. In addition to these, there are also some live animals on display. These exhibits provide an engaging and educational experience for all ages.
