The Lemp Neighborhood Arts Center, also known as 'The Lemp', is a non-profit performance space, art gallery, and community center. It is situated in the historic Benton Park neighborhood of St. Louis, Missouri. This center is not just a place to appreciate art, but also a hub for community activities and events.
The Lemp is renowned for hosting experimental music acts, particularly those that fall under the genres of noise rock, art rock, or noise music. However, the center's musical repertoire is diverse, frequently featuring genres such as free improvisation, electro-acoustic, folk, hardcore, punk, post-punk, math rock, indie rock, emo revival, post-hardcore, grindcore, and no wave.
Beyond its regular concerts, The Lemp is also recognized for hosting a three-day festival called NoisefeSTL. This festival, which began in October 2004 and ran annually until 2013, is known for showcasing experimental performers from the Midwest whose work is associated with noise.
