Lendonwood Gardens and its collection

Lendonwood Gardens, located in Grove, Oklahoma, is a non-profit botanical garden that was established in 1995. The founder, Dr. Leonard Miller, a retired dentist, combined American and Japanese gardening techniques to create a unique blend of flora. The gardens are part of the Oklahoma Botanical Garden system, which requires a site to contain labeled plants, be open to the public, and contain at least 225 species.

Plant Diversity at Lendonwood Gardens

Lendonwood Gardens boasts a diverse collection of over 1,400 different types of plants. This includes one of the largest collections of Chamaecyparis, also known as false cypress, in the United States, and the largest collection of rhododendrons in the Southwest. The gardens also feature 500 varieties of daylilies, 25 varieties of dogwoods, over 50 bonsai, 75 varieties of Japanese maples, and 70 varieties of hostas.
