The Liebieghaus is a late 19th-century castle-like villa in Frankfurt that was built in 1896, in a palatial, Historicist style, as a retirement home for textile manufacturer Baron Heinrich von Liebieg. The Liebieghaus is home to a sculpture museum, the Städtische Galerie Liebieghaus. The museum holds and displays a collection of ancient Greek, Roman and Egyptian sculpture, as well as Medieval, Baroque, Renaissance and Classicist works, and pieces from the Far East. The museum has a garden in which various sculptures are also on display, including a replica of Ariadne on the Panther by Dannecker.
