The Museo Archeologico Virtuale di Narce - MAVNA is an archaeological museum located in Mazzano Romano. It is dedicated to the ancient city of Narce, the archaeology of the Falisci, and the territory of the Treja Valley. The museum was founded in September 2012 and is housed in the Salvo D'Acquisto Cultural Center.
MAVNA has a small archaeological collection but thanks to agreements with various museum institutions it hosts virtual reconstructions and films of archaeological finds. This allows for the 'virtual return' of the archaeological heritage of the Narce site currently dispersed among various European and international museums.
MAVNA is open all year round and is equipped with a Regulation and a Quality Charter of Services. The museum's informative content, as well as the indications of essential services, are offered in Italian and English. This makes it accessible and informative for both local and international visitors.

MAVNA – Museo Archeologico Virtuale di Narce has 1 rating.
The MAVNA – Museo Archeologico Virtuale di Narce in Mazzano Romano, Italy, offers visitors an engaging look into the ancient Faliscan civilization. This museum combines traditional archaeological exhibits with modern virtual reality technology, providing an innovative approach to experiencing history.
The museum's strengths lie in its use of digital reconstructions and interactive displays, which help bring the ancient city of Narce to life. Visitors appreciate the opportunity to "walk through" reconstructed Faliscan houses and temples, giving a vivid sense of what life was like in this pre-Roman settlement. The artifacts on display, including pottery, jewelry, and grave goods, are well-presented and offer tangible connections to the past.
However, some visitors note that the museum is relatively small, and the content might be too specialized for those without a keen interest in archaeology or ancient Italian history. Additionally, while the virtual reality elements are generally praised, a few reviewers mentioned occasional technical glitches that slightly detracted from the experience.
The museum's location in the picturesque town of Mazzano Romano adds to its appeal, with several visitors recommending combining a trip to MAVNA with exploration of the surrounding area. The staff is often described as knowledgeable and helpful, enhancing the overall experience.
While MAVNA may not be a major tourist destination, it provides a valuable and educational experience for those interested in Italian prehistory and innovative museum techniques. Its blend of traditional archaeology and modern technology offers a fresh perspective on presenting historical information.
