Melbu Manor, located in Melbu in Vesterålen, is a historical site consisting of four buildings that were erected in the 1800s. These include the main building or residence, the servant's house, a storehouse, and a carriage house. Each of these structures contributes to the rich history and architectural beauty of the manor.
All the buildings at Melbu Manor have been meticulously restored to their appearance around the year 1900. The main building has been restored internally, preserving its historical charm. Additionally, a magnificent garden that graces the front of the main building has also been restored, offering a serene and beautiful environment for visitors to enjoy.
Today, Melbu Manor forms the core of the Vesterålsmuseet in Melbu. The main building is used for architectural and local history tours, providing visitors with a deep insight into the region's past. In addition to this, the main building also serves as a venue for cultural events, meetings, courses, and concerts, making it a vibrant hub of activity.
