The Barringer Crater, also known as the Arizona Crater or Meteor Crater, is a renowned impact crater located approximately 55 kilometers east of Flagstaff in the desert of northern Arizona, United States. Named after mining engineer and businessman Daniel Moreau Barringer, it is considered one of the most famous impact craters on earth.

Visiting the Barringer Crater

The Barringer Crater is a popular tourist attraction and can be easily reached via the Meteor Crater Road from the I-40 highway. Visitors should note that an entrance fee is required to access the site. Despite its geological significance, the crater is not legally protected and remains the property of the Barringer family.
