The Monto & District Historical Society is a community organization dedicated to preserving and sharing the history of Monto and its surrounding district. They operate the Monto Historical and Cultural Centre, which features a museum with historical displays, a cultural centre with photographic exhibits, and a working gold stamper. The society also actively supports other local groups and events, like the Monto Markets and Monto Performing Arts Group.

    What an incrediable collection of historical items of Monto and its past. you can wander around and get up close to the displays. the centre has great parking, and it has a website that gives you information on the displays. So worth a visit. https://montohistorycentre.wixsite.com/home
