The Vicente Di Martino Natural Sciences Museum is a natural history museum located in the Alborada Civic Center, Monte Hermoso resort, in the province of Buenos Aires, Argentina. The museum exhibits a wide range of zoological and paleontological pieces, offering visitors a unique insight into the natural history of the region.
The museum has been involved in the dissemination of numerous findings, including the discovery of exotic marine fauna that arrived at the coasts of Monte Hermoso, such as a gigantic sunfish and sea turtles. It has also collaborated in paleontological findings, such as the discovery of 12,000-year-old Scelidotherium footprints, and participated in the excavation of archaeological sites, such as "Monte Hermoso 1" and "Las Ollas".
The museum attracts around 50,000 visitors a year, including tourists, primary and high school students, and university students. It hosts various activities such as "The Night of the Museums", traveling exhibitions, educational talks, audiovisual presentations, and celebrations on environmental calendar dates. Additionally, the museum organizes guided tours to the archaeological site "Monte Hermoso I", which features seven thousand-year-old human footprints.
