The Museo archeologico nazionale di Muro Lucano is an archaeological museum located in the province of Potenza. It is dedicated to the history of north-western Lucania and is part of the museum network of the Direzione Generale Musei Basilicata. The Museo archeologico nazionale di Muro Lucano is situated in an elevated position towards the Ripe, in the old part of the village. It is housed inside the Seminario vescovile, a historic sixteenth-century palace. This palace has been remodeled and restored several times, particularly after the Irpinia earthquake, adding to its historical significance.
The museum covers an area of almost 1000 square meters, spread over three levels. It displays a collection of artifacts discovered during excavations carried out by the Soprintendenza per i Beni Archeologici di Muro Lucano since 1980. The collection includes a variety of artifacts such as amphorae, helmets, mosaics, and funerary equipment, providing a glimpse into the past.
