Throughout its history, the museum has been used for various activities. Its main use was as a Military College, under the administration of President Guadalupe Victoria from 1828 to 1837.
The museum is located next to the Jardín de la Triple Alianza, which was established in 1427. In this garden, visitors can see reliefs representing Izcóatl, Netzahualcóyotl, and Totoquihuatzin. These artistic works were created by the sculptor Jesús Fructuoso Contreras Oriundo in 1866.
The museum is open to the public from Tuesday to Saturday from 10:00 to 18:00 hours. On Sundays and holidays, the museum operates from 10:00 to 16:00 hours.
