The Museo del Territorio Biellese is housed in the former Convent of San Sebastiano, a building with a rich history dating back to the early 16th century. The construction of the complex is closely linked to the Ferrero family, particularly Sebastiano Ferrero, a prominent figure who served as a state advisor and general treasurer for the king of France for the Duchy of Milan. The building's architecture and interior decoration reflect the influence of Bramante and Leonardo da Vinci, who were present at the Milanese court during Ferrero's time.
