The museum is thoughtfully organized into five sections, each dedicated to a specific field of natural sciences. These sections include mineralogy and petrography, malacology, ornithology, zoology, and paleontology. This organization allows visitors to explore each field in depth and provides a comprehensive overview of the natural sciences.
The museum is housed in a sixteenth-century cloister and covers a total area of about three hundred square meters. It contains about six thousand units, spread over three wings of the cloister. This unique setting adds to the charm of the museum and provides a spacious environment for visitors to explore the collections.
In addition to the main collections, the museum also features a small archaeological section. This section comprises about eighty Roman artifacts found in the Lodi territory, adding a historical dimension to the museum's offerings. Additionally, the museum houses two herbaria and a collection of one hundred and fifty butterflies, further diversifying the exhibits for visitors.
