The remnants of the Castle of Torre de Moncorvo, including some sections of the wall near the Republic Square, have been classified as Property of Public Interest since October 20, 1955. This classification underscores the historical and cultural significance of the site.

Architectural Features of the Castle

The Castle of Torre de Moncorvo is located in a dominant position to the west of the medieval village. The castle had an irregular quadrangular plan and was constructed using granite. Its parade ground was free of any buildings, providing a clear view of the surrounding area.
