Museum Dorestad illustrates the history of The Early Medieval site of Dorestad. The collection consists of objects found in Wijk bij Duurstede during the excavations that began in 1967. These objects and architectural models, drawings and photographs illustrate the international trade place that was situated here from the 7th century until the middle of the 9th century. In addition to the permanent exhibition, the museum organises temporary exhibitions several times a year.
