Museum Goch, situated in the Düsseldorf district of North Rhine-Westphalia, was established after the First World War. The museum was the brainchild of Jean Klein, who generously donated his collection of furniture, household items, and paintings to form the foundation of the museum's collection.
The collection at Museum Goch is not arranged in chronological order. Instead, it features a diverse range of artworks, including sculptures from the late Gothic period from the Lower Rhine region, neo-Gothic works from the Langenberg workshop, and works by young contemporary artists from Germany, Cuba, South Africa, and Israel. This unique arrangement allows the artworks to engage in a direct dialogue with each other.
Museum Goch encompasses several houses, including the Arnold-Jansen-Haus and the Königshaus. The Fünf-Ringe-Haus, a building dating back to the 16th century, hosts temporary exhibitions that delve into local history. These houses add to the richness and diversity of the museum's offerings.
