The Museum of Electrical Technology (MTE) is a unique institution located in Pavia, Italy. It is dedicated to the world of electrotechnics and electrical engineering. The museum was officially opened to the public in March 2007, offering a comprehensive insight into the history and development of electrical technology.
The Museum of Electrical Technology boasts an exhibition area of approximately 2500 square meters. It houses over 4300 pieces, most of which are from the collections of the Enel company, the Sirti company, and the University of Pavia. The collection is further enriched by private donations, making it a comprehensive repository of electrical technology artifacts.
The Museum of Electrical Technology is organized into five sections. Visitors are encouraged to explore these sections in a specific order, which allows them to embark on a journey from the earliest experiments with electricity to the most recent developments in the field. This structured approach provides a comprehensive understanding of the evolution of electrical technology.
